On Tuesday 18th November, members of the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing and the Rotary Club of Leyland attended a special assembly at Academy@Worden to thank the Headteacher, students and staff for the superb contribution they had made as hosts to the recent Leyland Health Mela.

Professor Romesh Gupta, Chair of NFHW and President of Leyland Rotary, presented the School with a framed Certificate recording the partnership together with a cheque to add to school funds. He drew particular attention to the tremendous enthusiasm displayed by the students and looked forward to building on this at future events.

Individual Certificates of Appreciation were presented to pupils who had played a role on the day. Pietro de Luca, speaking for the Rotary Club of Leyland, told them how important their participation had been to the success of the event and how they could take pride in their active community involvement.

Planning is already underway for next year’s Health Mela which will take place at Academy@Worden on Saturday 17th September 2016.
