Nearly 300 visitors enjoyed the first Health Mela to be held at the University of Bradford. The event, which was organised by the NFHW and the local Rotary club was heldf on 18th May 2013. It was opened by chief guest Hon. Garry Sutcliffe, MP.

Almost a third of the visitors took full health MOTs and several new cases of cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes were found. These included 29 cases of raised cholesterol, 11 of whom were not on treatment, 13 with raised blood pressure, 7 people with raised blood gucose who were not previously known to have diabetes and a further 6 with raised blood sugar who were already known to suffer from diabetes.

40 stalls provided various health related advice.
